In fact, over the last 30 days, 63% of the mobile & tablet visitors to this website, as reported by Google Analytics, are iPhone or iPad users.

For years, Google has offered iOS apps for Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and more. However, until recently, the Gmail app had not been updated since December 4, 2012.

On November 7, 2016, Google announced a new Gmail app for iOS. The Google Calendar app was also updated.

The view of the inbox has been improved. It offers:

  • An updated menu bar and icons
  • A larger, more easily readable font
  • Round avatars
  • A floating Compose button

Feature updates include:

  • The ability to undo Send, as can be done on the desktop
  • Faster search with instant results and spelling suggestions
  • Swipe to archive or delete a message

Automatic email restyling using Media Queries make emails easier to read.

Updated Google Workspace Calendar App for iOS

A key new feature is the ability to see Month view and week in landscape view. Landscape view also makes it easier to view a combined work and personal calendar, which Google Workspace customers can easily set up.

Apple’s Spotlight Search can now be used to find events, Reminders and Goals in Google Calendar.
